About the Stanley School

Our diverse learning community is comprised of 420 students and a faculty of 91 full- and part-time personnel. In addition to twenty-seven regular classrooms in grades pre-K through five, we have a primary resource room and three pervasive developmental disorder (PDD) classrooms. The ethnicity of our student population is 57% Caucasian, 30% Hispanic, 7% Asian and 6% African-American, representing many countries throughout the world.

The William F. Stanley School staff is a hard working, conscientious, and dedicated team, who plan and work together to grow educationally, and to strengthen their skills and talents in their profession. Through collaborative planning, fundamental programming, and on-going communication, the William F. Stanley Elementary School has become a strong community school with high expectations as we “Strive for Success” for all students in all areas.

In addition to our wonderful staff, numerous volunteers enhance our children's education via numerous programs which expand and enrich daily academics and special subjects. The Retired Senior Volunteer Program has seniors teaching and reviewing academics with students from kindergarten through grade three. The Read Aloud Program matches adult readers with classrooms. Our Buddy Program has upper grade students working with younger students in planned literacy activities and projects under the guidance of the teachers and parent volunteers. Adult volunteers from the Big Brother/Big Sister Program share social time with the students. There are also many parents who volunteer in a variety of ways toward the betterment of the educational experience. If you are interested in being a volunteer at the Stanley School, please contact the school's principal, Marcia Pertuz.
