The School Advisory Council Needs a New Parent Member!
If you are looking for a way to be involved in your child's education and want to know what is happening in our school, please consider nominating yourself for membership on the Stanley School Council. Please contact any member of the SAC for more information. Nominations will be accepted through October 8th and voting will occur at the October 14th PTO meeting.
About the SAC
The School Advisory Council (SAC) is a team of people representing various segments of the school community: parents, teachers, students, administrators, support staff, business/industry people and other interested community members. It is the responsibility of the School Advisory Council to help increase student success. The SAC assists the principal in developing the annual school budget and the School Improvement Plan. In the process of developing the School Improvement Plan, the SAC conducts a needs assessment that identifies internal and external factors that affect student learning. Then, working with the information revealed by the needs analysis, the SAC assists in clarifying the vision for the school and establishing indicators of student success. The SAC focuses on the needs of students, including what they need to know (curriculum content) and be able to do (performance application).
The Stanley School SAC meets at 3:15 on the first Wednesday of each month (with some exceptions - see schedule below).
