Upcoming Events and Information
It's hard to believe that 10 glorious weeks of summer vacation are over. On behalf of the entire PTO, I hope you all were able to enjoy a happy, fun & sun-filled summer with your children and your family. And I wish you a warm welcome back to what is going to be a great year here at the Stanley Elementary School!!
Our first PTO meeting is going to be held this week on Thursday, September 4th at 7:00pm in the Stanley School cafeteria. Please join us as we will be discussing and voting on this years budget (you must be a paid PTO member to vote on the budget - membership forms will be going home with your students the first day of school), planned activities & fundraisers for the year, as well as a questionnaire from Dr. Nicholson about the spacing issues within our schools.
AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
For those families that are involved with the YMCA after school program - we wanted to let you know that all after school programs will be closed today, September 2nd, for educator in-service professional development.
BOKS is coming to Stanley!! BOKS is a program focused on getting kids to move their bodies through running, games and fun, keeping them active and healthy.
It will be held 2 mornings each week starting in October. Since this will be our first venture into the program, we are planning to start out with a small group of about 30 students. The program is heavily reliant on parent volunteers. So if you are interested in helping out, or have any questions about the program, feel free to contact Meg Zinda at email@example.com or Heather Wilder at HWILDER1@partners.org. You can also check out the BOKS website for more information, as well as what you can do to become a BOKS trainer.
