PTO Sponsored Events

Restaurant Nights
Have dinner at your favorite restaurant and Stanley can earn a percentage of your bill. Local restaurants like the 99 Restaurant,  Chipotle and the Chateau have all joined with Stanley families to help us earn money for PTO funded events. All restaurant nights have certain hours that apply and most require a coupon or mentioning the Stanley night to your server, so make sure you know the details before heading out. Some restaurants even allow take out to earn for the school!

Halloween Party
Join us for this new annual event! This free night of games, snacks, pictures and more is fun for all ages. There will be a costume contest for the children with great prizes and while there is no contest, adult costumes are welcome, yet please refrain from wearing masks. This is a great chance to mingle with other Stanley families in a fun and relaxing environment.

Movie Nights
Several times through out the year, PTO hosts Movie Nights in the gym. Nominal entrance fees are charged to raise money and drinks and snacks are also sold for an additional small fee. Bring your folding chairs or pillows and blankets to get comfy for a night of fun with friends while watching a recently released family friendly movie.

Visiting Artists
The PTO, along with occasional grant funding, sponsors a variety of visiting artists each school year. Visiting artists are chosen based on their ability to enhance curriculum or highlight social issues. In past years we have had artists such as Gabriela Mistral, Gerwick Puppets, Two of a Kind and several authors.

Bake Sale
The PTO holds a Bake Sale to coincide with the Holiday Concert. This is made possible by the many parental donations of baked goods of all kinds and help the day of the sale setting up and selling.

Snowflakes
Each year, the Stanley PTO sponsors Snowflakes, a program that provides needy families at the Stanley School with holiday gifts. Snowflakes with gift wishes will be posted on the bulletin board in the foyer just after Thanksgiving. Gifts are purchased by donations to the PTO or individual families or staff in the Stanley community may chose to fulfill a Snowflake wish.

Bingo Night
Bingo night is a fun filled evening of bingo games, ice cream and raffle prizes. Stop by for just a game or two of bingo or stay for the whole night. Raffle tickets can be purchased ahead of time or during the event.

Teacher Appreciation Lunch
The Teacher Appreciation Lunch is the one opportunity during the school year that many of our teachers have to sit down and enjoy a meal together. It gives them a chance to relax and enjoy some down time in the busy end of the school year craziness. And a time for the parents to say Thanks! for all the hard work they do with the children. In order for this to happen, PTO requires MANY volunteers to cover classrooms during the lunch, to help make lunch for the kids and teachers, along with set up and clean up. The lunch has been a hit with the teachers and staff and has just been getting better in the last few years. And none of it would be possible without all the hardworking parents!

Field Day
Field Day is another volunteer intensive event! Each Spring, PTO holds a day of fun for the kids, giving them a break from their day and increasing school spirit. The final day of Spirit Week, field day is full of hands on activities, challenging games and bouncy house fun. Volunteers are needed for set up and break down, along with helping through out the day to run each activity.

Red Sox Game
PTO sells discount tickets to see a Red Sox game at the end of the school year. This is a great opportunity to take young kids out to a baseball game and enjoy some fun with a whole crowd of Stanley families.

School Sponsored Events

Back to School Night
Back to School night is a chance for parents to meet with each year's teachers. Teachers will discuss the class curriculum and plans for the year. There are also presentations by the principal and the specialty rooms (such as library, art, drama, etc) through out the evening. Please note that due to the structure of this event, the evening is adults only. This allows parents to explore the school without their children, getting to see things as the kids do every day. The event is held one night at the end of each September and runs from 6:30-8:30 pm. Don't forget to contact your babysitter early!

Holiday Concert
The Holiday Concert is an annual Stanley event to showcase the school band and each grade as they sing songs.

Fine Arts Night
Fine Arts Night is an opportunity for students to display all the hard work they have been doing during the year. Art work in on display through out the school and in each classroom for parents to explore and appreciate. The event concludes with a concert by the school band.
