Welcome Back to School!

Announcements

  • If you are driving your child to school, please do not drive onto school property during arrival and dismissal.  The new procedure for drop-off and pick-up utilizes the Nipper-Maher parking lot, which is accessed via Dartmouth Street, Shakespeare Road or Wheelock Road.  After parking there, you may walk with your child onto school property, or walk your child to the corner of Wheelock and South to be crossed to school property by the crossing guard. PLEASE USE CAUTION AND DRIVE SLOWLY THROUGH THE NIPPER LOT AS THERE ARE MANY WALKERS WHO UTILIZE THE LOT TO WALK TO SCHOOL!
  • There will be a Shopping Cart order placed this weekend.  Orders with payments are due by 11:59 PM on September 6th.  Staples is offering a 5% bonus for a total of 10% returned to the school!  We also now have Hannaford cards in stock ($50 and $100) for pick-up or delivery at any time! The Stanley School earns 5% of every Hannaford card purchased. Please contact Erin Jensen (chrisjensen12 @ comcast.net) with questions. The next Cart orders are due on September 20th.
  • Our first PTO meeting will be on Tuesday, September 9, at 7 PM in the cafeteria.  Mrs. Pertuz will hold a coffee hour in the library from 6-7 PM.  PTO Board members will also be on hand for the coffee hour.  We hope to see you there!
  • The Stanley School PTO will host a booth at the annual Waltham Day on the Common, September 13th from 10 am to 3 PM.  We are looking for volunteers to help out between the hours of 9 AM and 4 PM!  If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Colette Brenner (ccbrenner @ rcn.com).
  • The Entertainment Book fundraiser will be kicking off during the second week of school.  Contact Susan McKinney (susan @ fffltd.com) if you are interested in helping out!

Reminders

  • There has been a slight change to the length of the school day this year.  Students may begin lining up once supervision is in place at 8:25, as they have in the past.  However, the start of the official school day is now at 8:42 AM. Your child will be marked tardy after this time.
  • Start gathering up your Boxtops, Shaw's and Staples receipts and ink jet cartridges! They can be sent in with your child or dropped off at the main office once school opens.
